At the center of a room furnished by a sideboard holding plates, glasses, and a bottle, appear three figures, the three brothers of the title, dressed in the fashion of the 1930s. Seated or standing, they hold their bodies differently and their eyes do not meet. Behind them we can see, through the open French window, a mountain landscape. The composition can be interepreted as one of the many variations in the cycle of red men; man, even when inserted into a contemporary context, continues to be the center of the artist’s attention.
