LUCIO FONTANA
(Rosario di Santa Fé, Argentina, 1899 - Milan, 1968). A student of the sculptor Adolfo Wildt in Milan, he became a protagonist of the artistic renewal taking place in Italy in the 1930s, in contact with the group of abstract artists in Milan gravitating around the Galleria del Milione.

In those same years he worked with ceramics and in the post-war years was the driving force behind the avant-garde movement of Spazialismo (Spatialism), forerunner of the Conceptual Art of the 1970s.
